The Sailing Club at MTU puts the Keweenaw’s natural resources to good use. The club sails on the Portage Waterway in Houghton in both the fall and spring seasons. The racing members compete at regattas across the Midwest under the Midwest Collegiate Sailing Association (MCSA), a regional denomination of the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association (ICSA). The club welcomes all students, even those who have no sailing experience but would like to learn! New sailors, come to our cruising practices on Fridays during the sailing season (see tab “Cruising”). Our practices are located next to the Super 8 on the Portage.
